This project was developed on a team as a final for the class Democracy in Action.
We were tasked with developing educational and actionable materials about the function of the US government. Our team singled out lobbying and it's influence on policy as our focus.
We wanted to develop a unique and engaging game targeted at High school students. We thought the format of Tinder would be a great, tongue-in-cheek, way to frame how congresspeople choose lobbying organizations to work with.
We chose a real bill, dealing with renewable energy, and created realistic proposed changes from coal, oil, and auto industry lobbyists.
My work focused on making satisfying user interactions with the content of the game. The player swipes on changes to accept them, and gets immediate feedback about their funding, popularity, and environmental impact.
